About Widget Jones’ Diary
In Widget Jones’ Diary, we explore the world of dogs, as seen from the point of view of Widget, a half Labrador, half Great Pyrenees. Our readers are dog-owned humans with a sense of the ridiculous, and who find humour in the antics of their dogs and their dogs’ friends. Widget can be quite opinionated and isn’t afraid to comment on the world around her, often ridiculing her humans and their worldview. She is an avid reader of novels, and any book, movie, song or magazine that has dogs in it is of particular interest. She scours the Web, looking for products and services that are dog-related, and is happy to share them with you, her readers. Here, you’ll find honest reviews of these products and services.

Widget will save you the time and trouble of wading through mounds poopof doo-doo, trying to find the right gift or service for your dog or your dog’s friends. (Or your dog’s friends’ humans.) Here we show you the good stuff, specially chosen by Widget, (and occasionally by her human, when allowed).

Who is Widget Jones?
Widget’s mixed heritage makes her a tad more…shall we say…assertive, than a pure Lab, and a bit more soft-mouthed than a Pyr. She loves good chick-lit, particularly if it has lots of dogs in it. She has allergies, so she’s investigated many avenues for relief, and she is an enthusiastic, though not particularly well-trained canine freestyler or dog-dancer.

Her human, Bev, has been an animal artist for years, and helps Widget pick out good books, magazines, movies and products. They love to read and watch videos together, and have an excellent rapport now that Widget has her human properly trained. Widget will save you time and effort, providing you with the best dog-related products, services and reading material the Web has to offer.

Widget’s Book Review Policy
We accept review copies of novels that are about dogs, have dogs in them, or are narrated by dogs. At present, we are not reviewing training manuals, but we plan to do so in the future. We’re sorry, but we can’t post reviews of books that are not dog-related (though we’d be happy to read them).

We accept Kindle versions, paperbacks and hardbacks for review. Reviews will be posted here on Widget Jones’ Diary, on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, and on several dog-related chat lists, including several groups on Dogster.

Although we will begin to read any book that is sent to us, if the material isn’t compelling and informative by the second chapter, we probably won’t continue. Widget doesn’t guarantee a review, and when she does post a review, it will be an honest one. She’ll tell her readers exactly what she likes and why, and exactly what she doesn’t like, and why, about a book. She doesn’t pull her punches.

To request a book review, please contact us via the Widget Jones’ Diary contact form.

Widget’s Product Review Policy
We accept review copies of dog-related products. We don’t always require but would prefer an affiliate relationship with suppliers before we post a review.

Reviews will be posted here on Widget Jones’ Diary, on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca if the products are available there, and on several dog-related chat lists, including several groups on Dogster.

Although we will try any product sent to us, if we find it doesn’t do what it purports to do, or if it is ineffective in any way, we will not review it. Widget doesn’t guarantee a review, and when she does post a review, it will be an honest one. She will tell her readers exactly what she likes and why, and exactly what she doesn’t like, and why, about a product, no holding back.
